ADU'S

ADU’S OR ADDITIONAL DWELLING UNITS, ARE ENABLING CITIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO TAKE ON AN URBAN HOUSING CRISIS, WHILE GIVING HOME OWNERS A WAY TO GENERATE REVENUE FROM THEIR EXISTING PROPERTY. ABA, HAS WORKED ON SEVERAL ADU’S ACROSS DENVER, AND IS FAMILIAR NOT ONLY WITH THE ZONING ALLOWANCES OF ADU’S, BOTH IN AND OUT OF LANDMARK DISTRICTS, BUT ALSO RULES AROUND SHORT TERM, AND LONG TERM RENTALS IN DENVER, AND ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

Shoshone ADU Denver Highlands

SHOSHONE ADU

The Shoshone ADU, was designed around an existing stone wall that was part of the first structure on the block. (Circa 1850) Originally a horse stable, this carriage house began to fall apart. We saved the exterior wall, built on the property line, and used the foot print as a palimpsest for the design of the Additional Dwelling Unit.

LANDMARK ADU

WHEN A NEIGHBORHOOD IS DESIGNATED LANDMARK, ADDED RESTRICTIONS ARE PUT ON ADDITIONAL DWELLING UNITS. THIS ADU, NEEDED TO FOLLOW THE ROOF LINES OF THE PRIMARY BUILDING ON THE PROPERTY. THE CROSS GABLE CONSTRUCTION GIVES THE BUILDING HISTORIC GEOMETRY, BUT IS BUILT OF MODERN MATERIALS, WITH THE COMFORT AND LONGEVITY OF MODERN FIXTURES AND FURISHINGS.
